Language Arts: We have met all of the characters who teach us about the long vowels.  We have also met Joy who oils her toys (oi/oy), and will be meeting Ping Pong (ng sound) the last week of school. The students have been busy publishing their final books of the year.  They have also been working on sorting short and long vowel sounds, and reviewing sight words. 

Math: We have been practicing our skip counting by 2s skills.  We have enjoyed our 3D object unit over the past several weeks.  The students have been practicing their math facts and working with facts that are related to each other - eg. - 10-5 = 5 and 5 +5 = 0. 

Social Studies:  We have been completing our mapping unit this term.  We have studied all different kinds of maps and learned about the symbols used on them.  We also enjoyed looking at different locations on Google Maps. 

Science:  We have enjoyed our 5 Senses unit and have learned all about how we use our senses to make sense of the world around us.  We have done lots of fun experiments with mystery sounds and smells.  Our taste test will be the last week of school!
